The Archbishop’s LifeLink Day 2017 will officially be launched on Wednesday 7 June 2017 during WA Week.
It is appropriate that during this week of celebrating what is great about our State, that we focus on and remember people in need within the community – people right here ‘at home’ in WA.
LifeLink Day provides a wonderful opportunity for students attending Catholic schools within the Archdiocese of Perth, to join together to show their collective support for the many Church social service agencies – agencies which on behalf of us all, reach out to provide practical care and direct assistance to thousands of people in need within the community.
On Wednesday 31st May St Columba’s will hold our own celebration for LifeLink Day. All students at our school are invited to make a gold coin donation and wear ‘free dress’ on this day. They will also receive a LifeLink Day heart. On one side of the heart students will write a message to people in need in the community, draw a picture or write a prayer. These hearts will then be affixed to a wooden stake and taken to the official launch of LifeLink Day at Newman College Auditorium on Wednesday 7 June 2017, by our student leaders.
All classroom gold coin donations will be collected by the classroom teachers and will then be combined and donated to this worthwhile cause.
Thank you in anticipation and for your support in supporting our Archbishop's initiative.
